Service Description

During your hour-long video consultation, Jen can advise on: Furniture and home decor selection and placement Floor plan layout Stores and brands to consider Styling (surfaces, sofas, beds, walls etc.) Paint/wall treatments and drapery/window treatments Cabinetry and built-ins Fixtures, finishes and trims You will come away from your consultation feeling energized and confident in the next steps to take in your project. The countless decisions of home design tend to be time-consuming and costly. Booking a remote consultation makes the process easier and more enjoyable! HOW IT WORKS The Format Your consultation takes place on Zoom video calls. Prior to the scheduled consultation, you will receive a link via email to join the video call where you will be met by Jen. From there, you’ll be able to show your space (via Zoom screen-share or over video), ask questions and get feedback/advice. There is not a set structure for how you utilize your time; consultations are meant to be collaborative and tailored to your needs. Preparation Once you’ve set the date for your video call and paid the invoice sent via email, you will receive an additional email requesting information to help Jen prepare for the meeting. You can decide what to send, but generally we suggest Photos of the spaces you need help with (can be shared via a shared album or Dropbox or directly in the email if there are only a few images) Questions you’d like answered Inspiration images of rooms, styles, colors you love (these images can be shared in several ways: shared album, shared Pinterest board, Dropbox) Some people also include furniture/decor being considered or floor plans/drawings. What to Expect during the Call This is when you and Jen will collaborate and tailor your time together to best suit your needs. Because the meeting will be on Zoom, you can show your space in real time using the camera on the device you’re taking the call from. Since you will have also shared photos beforehand, you may find it more efficient to refer to those photos during the call. Jen will have gathered them into a document and uploaded them to the dashboard to review during the consultation. Using Zoom’s screen-share feature or accessing other uploaded documents, Jen will also review with you additional imagery of recommendations for your project. Depending on the specifics of what you’re working on, this might include fabrics, rugs, decor, furniture, paint colors, etc.
